Once upon a time there were three bears who lived together in their own house in a forest. One was a small bear, one was a medium bear, and the other was a large bear. Everyone had a bowl for their porridge; a bowl for the teddy bear; and a medium-sized bowl for the medium-sized bear; and a big bowl for the Big Bear. And each of them had a chair to sit on; a small chair for the teddy bear; and a medium-sized chair for the medium-sized bear; and a big chair for the big bear. And each of them had a bed to sleep on; one goes for the teddy bear; and a medium-sized bed for the medium-sized bear; and a big bed for Big Bear.
One day, after making porridge for breakfast and putting it in their porridge bowls, they went into the woods while the porridge was getting cold, so as not to burn their mouths by starting too early out of politeness. , well behaved bears. And while they were gone, a little girl named Goldilocks, who lived across the forest and had been given a job by her mother, came by the house and looked out the window. And so she peered through the keyhole, for she was not a well-behaved little girl. Then, seeing no one in the house, she undid the latch. The door wasn't locked because bears were good bears who didn't harm anyone and never knew anyone would harm them. Then Goldilocks opened the door and entered; and she was very glad when she saw the porridge on the table. If she had been a well-behaved little girl, she would have waited until the bears came home, and then they might have invited her to breakfast; for they were good bears - a little rough, as bears tend to be, but very affable and hospitable nonetheless. But she was a naughty, rude little girl, so she started helping herself.
First she tried the Big Bear porridge and found it too spicy. Next she tried the middle bear porridge, but it was too cold for her. And so she went to the little bear's porridge and tasted it, and it was not too hot and not too cold, but just right, and she liked it so much that she ate everything, down to the last detail!
Then Goldilocks, who was tired from chasing butterflies instead of running her errands, sat in Big Bear's chair, but it was very difficult for her. And then she sat down on the medium-sized bear chair, which was too soft for her. But when she sat on the teddy bear chair, it wasn't too hard or too soft, it was just right. So she sat in it, and there she sat until the chair came loose and she fell fat on the floor; and it made her very angry since she was a bad tempered little girl.
Now determined to rest, Goldilocks went upstairs to the room where the Three Bears slept. And first she lay down on the Big Bear's bed, but it was too high for her. And then she lay down on the medium-sized bear's bed, which was too high for her. And then she lay down on the teddy bear's bed, which wasn't too high at the head or feet, but just right. So she covered herself comfortably and lay there until she fell asleep.
At this point, the three bears thought their porridge was cold enough to eat properly; So they went home for breakfast. Now carefree Goldilocks had let Big Bear's spoon rest in his porridge.
"SOMEONE WAS IN MY MASH!"
said the Big Bear in his big, rough, rough voice.
Then the middle bear looked at his porridge and saw that the spoon was in it too.
"SOMEONE WAS IN MY MASH!"
said the medium-sized bear in his medium-sized voice.
Then Little Bear looked at his, and there was the spoon in the porridge bowl, but the porridge was gone!
"SOMEONE WAS IN MY PORTE AND EAT EVERYTHING!"
said the little bear in his little voice.
The three bears then started looking around when they saw that someone had entered their house and eaten little bear's breakfast. Well, careless Goldilocks hadn't fixed the hard pillow when she got up from the Big Bear chair.
"SOMEONE IS SITTING IN MY CHAIR!"
said the Big Bear in his big, rough, rough voice.
And carefree Goldilocks perched on Middle Bear's soft pillow.
"SOMEONE IS SITTING IN MY CHAIR!"
said the medium-sized bear in his medium-sized voice.
"SOMEONE'S SITTING IN MY CHAIR AND SEATING THE BELOW!"
said the little bear in his little voice.
So the Three Bears thought it best to search a little more in case it was a burglar, so they went upstairs to their room. Now Goldilocks had ripped Big Bear's pillow from its place.
"SOMEBODY IS IN MY BED!"
said the Big Bear in his big, rough, rough voice.
And Goldilocks had pulled Medium Bear's pillow out of its place.
"SOMEBODY IS IN MY BED!"
said the medium-sized bear in his medium-sized voice.
But when little bear came to look at his bed, there was the pillow in its place! And the pillow was in place on the pillow!
What about the pillow——?
There was Goldilocks' yellow head - which was out of place as she had no business there.
"SOMEONE IS LYING ON MY BED - AND HERE SHE IS!"
said the little bear in his little voice.
Now, in his sleep, Goldilocks had heard the great, rough, hoarse voice of the Great Bear; but she slept so soundly that it was no more to her than the rush of the wind or the rumble of thunder. And she heard the medium-sized voice of the medium-sized bear, but it was like hearing someone speaking in a dream. But when she heard the little bear's voice, she was so shrill and shrill that she woke up immediately. She got up and when she saw the three bears on one side of the bed, she threw herself on the other side and ran to the window. Now the window was open because the bears, like good, proper bears, always opened their bedroom window when they got up in the morning. Goldilocks, so mischievous and frightened, jumped up; and whether she broke her neck in the fall, or ran into the woods and got lost there, or made it out of the woods and was whipped for being a bad girl and skipping school, no one can say. But she never saw the Three Bears again.
